Summing up everything about my life on one page is both intimidating and impossible, so I'm going to try to keep this brief--haha!
I am the wife of an amazing guy! We met as kids and grew up in the same church and homeschool group, but we weren't really close friends until college. It just clicked over hiking and board games and memes in a group chat that he was the one for me, and the rest is history!
We decided early on in our dating relationship that we wanted to be involved in helping families in the state foster care system to some capacity. In June of 2020, after a year of marriage, we humbly said "yes" to God's calling to open our home to be a safe place for kiddos for as long as they needed, and to open our hearts to their families as they strive to be made whole again. Two weeks after starting licensing classes, two blue lines showed up on a pregnancy test, and we knew our world was about to be turned completely upside-down! In October of 2020, our first placement of Sissy and Bubba, 22 months and 4 months respectively joined us, and in February of 2021, little Melody made us a family of five!!
Flash forward to the fall of 2021--three kiddos under three! "Time to take a break and catch our breath," we told ourselves....so you can only imagine the absolute SHOCK when we found out that ANOTHER little bio babe would be joining us in May! WHAT A WILD RIDE this life has been, and we can't wait to meet our new little lady SO SOON! While we still don't know how long we will get to love on Sissy and Bubba in our home, we are so grateful for the honor of being chosen to be their family--we can't wait to see what God does in all of our lives, and we continually pray for His will to be done ❤
I am a registered nurse, but I am currently taking a break from the field to stay home and raise my babies! I am passionate about living holistically and self-sustainably. I still have a lot to learn about keeping a home, but I am so thankful for the opportunity to put all my energy into discipling these kiddos and creating peace in the chaos.
My goal for this blog is a gathering place for the many fragmented pieces of my brain throughout this season of my life--what God is teaching me, our day-to-day life at home, parenting thoughts, dinner recipes, crafting, and homemaking. I hope that it is a blessing to you to see a very real mom and wife navigate the many obvious joys He has given (and the joys He gives as temporary sufferings). May it all be for His glory! Thank you for stopping by!
